Access to safe water is life saving and life changing. Water means hope. Hope for health, an education and time for income producing activities. Water is life and nothing can exist without it. Recently we heard a presentation on how Honduras Well Projects was created out of a vision shared with O.R. Agua Viva Internacional that realizes thousands of people remain in northern Honduras without a clean, safe water source. AVI is a non-profit organization in LaCeiba Honduras with nearly 20 years of well drilling experience and a huge heart for ministry. The knowledge of their home region, the drilling process, and above all their sincere desire to Seek God & Serve Others, is what solidifies confidence in this partnership.
We wanted to get involved and so we contribute to providing clean water with 25% of each purchase of Honduran coffee.
Costa Rica Jaguar
Our green bean purchase of this delectable honey processed Costa Rican coffee included a small donation to restoring Jaguar habitat in the jungles of Central America. You support this also when you pick up a pound of this cool cat coffee!
Peru Women's Coffee Project
One of our green bean suppliers has partnered with the coop, COOPAFSI to provide a fairly simple but costly solution to their coffee processing challenge – Drying Tents or Solar dryers as they are commonly called. To start, they are launching this program with the goal of providing a drying tent for each of 50 women from the "Las Damas de San Ignacio" group. Each tent will cost them about $290. All funds raised will go directly to the cooperative to launch this program in time for the 2020 harvest.
In addition, these solar drying tents would allow these women to produce more coffee and sell it at a higher premium which can contribute to other projects they are working on such as communal kitchens and better access to healthcare. Eventually the goal is to provide every producer (or family) with a solar drying tent but for now this is a great start! Thanks in advance for supporting this mission.
